I couldn‘t put this down. Maura owns a town pub called Sullivan‘s. In the middle of a blizzard several people are stuck @ the pub til the storm stops. One of them is the woman suspected in a murder years ago and she insists on her innocence. So the group decide to go over the details since they have nothing else to do for the night.

When Theo travels with her wealthy fiance to his family's isolated compound in the mountains for Christmas, she hopes they won't look too deeply at her family background. Before it's over, secrets will be flying left and right, and not everyone will leave the mountain alive. I wasn't sure about this one at first--it initially seemed like the same old, same old--but by the end I was completely hooked.

There is something about atmospheric thrillers, the way chill seeps in, the white of the snow, the blood against it. All this the author definitely thought if and utilised it pretty well in her story. The story was fast paced, it kept me on my toe, made me devour the book in one and half days. A strong thriller and a capable entertainer. 7/10

This was a solid domestic mystery/thriller. Most of it was pretty easy to figure out but there were still some surprises to be had. Theo was a great main character, being somewhat of an unreliable narrator but also warm and funny. I really wanted her to figure out her past! Will definitely read more by this author! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I‘m pretty sure I‘ve given him far more than his permitted ration of gummy fruit snacks, but he could sense weakness and I was left without much of a choice.”
As an aunt, I feel this in my bones 😭🤷🏻♀️😂😂

I had this weird sense of deja vu multiple times while reading this, like I had read the same passages or subplots somewhere else. It made me feel like many of the ideas had been done before.
While I found this on a whole entertaining, the ending, with the constant this is whodunnit, no! this is whodunnit, etc, got a little silly and made it less serious.

Poor people can‘t seem to trust invites by the rich 😰
