A Caravaggio painting disappears from the chapel of Doon Abbey in Kildare Ireland. Sister Alice, a novitiate, & Sister Mercy Superior investigate but the suspects and body count are many. I enjoyed this story but the book was written together with Binchy and other writers which caused it to be a bit confusing in parts. Loved all the humorous characters and the ending was surprising. Recommended for those whose love Binchy and humorous Irish tales.

TheBookHippie It makes total sense as to how the story went ..seriously though a much needed fun ride for my brain. Can you imagine sitting around oooo let‘s do that to the story and at this rate we all can write a book together! 4y

Crewgurl Well one of the masterminds was dead, another turned government witness and the rest were nuns and Davy. I guess not much left to arrest...no one wants a bad press story about arresting nuns. 4y

JacqMac Typical Catholic Church getting away with murder. 😂Though really, there wasn‘t anyone to arrest in the end. 4y

Crewgurl Nope. Came completely out of left field. Never really got a good explanation on the back story either. 4y

JacqMac I didn‘t suspect them either. Though when I was first reading about the “big” woman, I thought it might be a man. I think I even said that in one of our first discussions. 4y

rubyslippersreads Weren‘t there several “big women” in this story? Didn‘t Alice remember her mother calling her that? I didn‘t suspect either of the Jesuits, but like @JacqMac I thought at least one “big woman “ might be a man. 4y

cobwebmoth I don't remember any indication to her age in the first part of the book, so I kept picturing her as older, so yes, the pregnancy took me by surprise. 4y

Crewgurl Very crazy. The weirdest part was who the father was and how it still ends up a happily ever after. 4y
