Uncas is a well known Sachem in Connecticut early history. He broke from the Pequot over differing ideas of how to handle the invading English.Gladys was his 9th generation granddaughter.She died at 106 in 2005 after serving her tribe in various capacities both local & federal.She practiced the ancient healing medicinal traditions of her people throughout her lifetime.

kspenmoll @Suet624 Very much so. It may be that this tribe is from CT & I know some of their history. This is written by a younger tribe member who interviewed her extensively. 6y
