Just FYI, for those of you haven‘t read this, they get killed by a tiger a crazy father keeps at a gas station as means of attracting business. I‘ve only read this and Beach Music by Pat Conroy. Maybe I‘ll take a look at one of his others.

Reggie @Cinfhen Thanks!! In the movie I think the tiger gets shown in a dream sequence. One of Conroy‘s books is used by his mom in court as evidence of abuse when she was divorcing his father. Beach Music has a Holocaust survivor story in it, it‘s not the whole book but there‘s a reason it‘s there. It was pretty good. 5y

Reggie @erzascarletbookgasm He‘s pretty good. The two books I‘ve read of his have to do with extremely dysfunctional families and how the kids of those families cope or don‘t as adults. He passed away a couple of years ago. 5y

KathyWheeler The Great Santini is good too, as is The Water is Wide. I loved My Reading Life, which is his book about the books he loved and that influenced him. The only book of his I‘ve read that I didn‘t like was South of Broad. 5y
