Hello #Pemberlittens friends! I‘ve made the difficult decision to end our #JaneAdjacent buddy reads starting in May. Or at least to end my role in hosting them. I‘ve found recently that I‘ve overcommitted myself on Litsy and in real life and I need to step back. I‘ve so enjoyed our discussions and the books we‘ve chosen that have brought us back into Jane‘s world. If anyone is interested in taking up the mantle, you have my blessing!

mcctrish It‘s so easy to do. I‘m so sad but I‘m so happy I got to hang out with you for a brief while 15h

BarkingMadRead Awwwww that‘s a bummer, but I totally get it! If I wasn‘t already hosting a couple others I would take it over! 15h
Sace While I was not part of the reading I totally understand the Litsy overwhelm! There are so many fabulous activities here and it‘s hard not to overdo. 15h
Librarybelle Thank you for hosting this! I completely understand - I can barely keep up with all of the activities I‘m hosting and participating in. It‘s been a lot of fun. ❤️ 15h

julieclair This has been a wonderful ride and I will miss it. But I totally get the overwhelm. I, too, suffer from what my husband calls “overcommitment syndrome “. 🙃 Thank you for the time, effort and heart you have put into hosting us. 😍🥰 (edited) 11h
CrowCAH Thanks you so much for heading up the buddy reads! 😘 Totally understandable about commitment; lots of book clubs! Take it easy! 10h

CatLass007 @BarkingMadRead Did you change your handle while I was on hiatus from Littens? Did you used to be @BarkingMadRuns? 2h
BarkingMadRead @CatLass007 I used to be BarkingMadRun but I can‘t run anymore so i changed it 1h
CatLass007 I get that. If running is something you enjoyed, then I‘m sorry you can‘t run anymore. But you must be pretty memorable since I was off Litsy for about three years. 57m

Some chapters hit closer to home than others and I think that will vary between each reader depending on past experiences in your life.

Mehso-so

The main character Andy is a bit annoying in that he wallows in the breakup with Jen for a long time. As a standup comedian he's not that funny. He can't seem to get out of his own way. However, the ending redeemed the novel for me. I enjoyed the perspective it gave with a couple plot twists thrown in.

Mehso-so

Set in Africa in the 70s there was a mountain climb, a tragedy, a job, an almost affair, robberies, a disappearance, and another mountain climb. Not quite sure of the overall point, but it held my interest.

When I started reading this one, I didn‘t think I was going to like it. I was wrong. I ended up not being able to put it down! The story was a little bit predictable and too neatly wrapped up at times but I still enjoyed it. The domestic violence aspect was quite confronting. The language of flowers is interesting and the Australian settings were great to read about.

Ah, the first of many Jessica Wakefield mistakes! When Elizabeth‘s favorite author comes to visit the 2nd grade class, all the students want the honor of being her special assistant. When Jessica finds what she thinks is a cast off story of Elizabeth‘s, she copies it over as her own! Of course, she realizes her mistake, and it‘s the first public recognition Elizabeth receives for her writing! Another fun installment!
