Robert De Niro is brilliant as Captain Shakespeare, and it took me way too long to place him! #OLOB #LitsyMovieNight #LibraryThingMovieNight

Blonde Claire Danes looks a lot like Gwyneth Paltrow. #OLOB #LitsyMovieNight #LibraryThingMovieNight

JoyBlue I thought so, too, last night when I started watching (again, many years after first viewing). 6y

Okay so in the film, his name is Tristan, which is always what I think when I read it but it‘s really TristRan in the book. What gives? #LitsyMovieNight #LibraryThingMovieNight #OLOB

xicanti I'd legit read the book three and a half times before I realized he was called Tristran, not Tristan. 6y
lorannen According to IMDB, it's because Tristan was easier to say... 6y
kgriffith @xicanti It took me a while to realize it this time through myself, and I still read it as Tristan despite knowing I‘m wrong! 6y
kgriffith @lorannen well that‘s a boring answer. 6y

How does Gaiman explore the concept of desire (along with the explicitly capitalized “your Heart‘s Desire”) in Stardust? Is it a good thing, a bad thing, or somewhere in between?

LoverofLit She says nothing at all, but simply stares upward into the dark sky and watches, with sad eyes, the slow dance of the infinite stars. 6y

I‘m sitting on my new porch, listening to the birds chirping outside, and the airplanes overhead (yeah, I‘m directly under the airport landing path, but I‘m moving FROM being flanked by a fire station and a hospital, so this is nothing).
I have a PORCH. I am going to absolutely live out here this summer. 😍 #OLOB #homesweethome

Aims42 Enjoy!!!!! 6y
Craftylikefox Yay! Enjoy porch reading! I had a porch at my last rental and loved it 😊 6y
