Something I was excited to do on my last trip to NOLA was visit cemeteries. Because of the flooding, burial has to take place on #higherground. The ornate look of the cemeteries has always stuck out to me. I read this book back in 2010 before my trip. #getmovin

Titania I grew up on the Mississippi coast not too far from NO. We had cemeteries with above ground crypts, too, in certain areas. I remember a couple of times the flooding was bad enough to pop the cement tops resulting in caskets floating around. 😱 6y
