Excellent book. I've read it for the #192019challenge, it was first published in 1926. A doctor, after the death of a friend, reads his journal, in which he discovers his addiction to morphine, and his rapid descent into hell. The author suffered also from this addiction, making his descriptions even more vivid. I highly recommend it.

#Morphine has been mentioned a couple of times so far. Again, didn't realise there wasn't this #drug culture in #Edwardian #England.
