I can't believe it's already time to post the March #BookSpin lists! New to the list this month is the tagged and Hyperion. I'm starting to get a little behind on my reads for February but fingers crossed I'll be caught up in March. As always thanks to @TheAromaofBooks for hosting.

2022 Reads Continued

TGAT:S I've vowed to finish this mammoth trilogy in four parts by mid 2023. Started the series in 2016.

THATL- that Bonkers Twist was not good. Think it's my least favourite of Sagers

Chaplin invites you to his Ted Talk about one of the fantasy genre's most underrated authors, Tad Williams! 😹 He's so fantastic and I can never understand why more people aren't reading his works! The Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series - the first book is pictured here - is particularly excellent! Especially if you love old school fantasy epics! 💕📚 #catsoflitsy #chaplin

Leftcoastzen 😂😸I would LOVE to hear his Ted Talk! 2y
ravenlee Wouldn‘t this be a Tad Talk? 2y
shanaqui I reread the first book recently and then stalled. Gotta start again soon, I think! 2y

Branwen @ravenlee Yes! 😹💕 @Leftcoastzen He would appreciate the audience, I'm sure! 😹 @shanaqui It does have it's slow moments, that's for sure! But it's totally worth it in the end! ❤️📚 2y

HAPPY #BOOKSPIN DAY TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE!
Has my chunkster curse continued? Yes it has thank you for asking. Lol I‘m still quite a bit behind for the year but I‘m still so hyped for this day each month. As always thank you to @TheAromaofBooks for hosting.

TheAromaofBooks The only way to break the chunkster curse may be... to not put chunksters on your list 😂 (edited) 2y
HeyT @TheAromaofBooks lol I know but my list is made up of books I need for a different challenge. I /think/ from now on there aren't too many more to go on though so fingers crossed. 2y
TheAromaofBooks They are extra satisfying to check off as well!! 2y

My mini chard tart experiment was a success! Hello, leafy greens for breakfast.

I‘m gonna push on through the last 80 pages of THE DRAGONBONE CHAIR today. While I‘ve enjoyed some parts, this reread has been way more of a slog than a delight. I‘ll give STONE OF FAREWELL 50-100 pages, but if it hits me the same way as TDC did I‘ll be bailing.

I‘ll also keep thinking lots of tl;dr thoughts about how Teenage Me and Adult Me‘s tastes differ.

Larkken There are a number of books that I adored as a teenager that I‘m afraid to reread and ruin the memory for just this reason 😭 3y
mandarchy What is a chard tart? I love chard! Is that chicken on top? I'm off to Google this... 3y
xicanti @Larkken it‘s weird—for the most part, I‘ve found I can still reread the stuff I read multiple times when I was young, but the books I only read once are way less likely to resonate with Adult Me. I‘m pretty sure this book is objectively better than some of the other teenage reads I still like, but it still failed to click with me. Sadness. 3y
xicanti @mandarchy it‘s actually a sweet chard tart! I can‘t find the link to the recipe, but it combines wilted and blanched chard with poached raisins, almonds, cinnamon, sugar, and an egg in a cookie-like crust, with apple on top. I usually make a full size, lidded version, but decided to try mini open faced tarts this time. 3y
mandarchy @xicanti is okay, I would prefer a savory version. There are so many foods I can't eat, apples and fructose being some of them. It looks delicious though. 😋 3y
