Immanuelle Moore has carried the stains of her parents sins her entire life, her parents union was forbidden by her strict religious community of Bethel. Her father was an outsider and executed while her mother fled into the woods. Immanuelle did everything she could to fit in and and follow the rules, but she was always treated as an outsider.
I haven't read Palahniuk in awhile, but many of his characters were undoubtedly #marginal I recall Survivor was a favorite. Narrator Tender Branson (that name!) recalls his life from an airplane cockpit & how he became involved with a cult-the Creedish Church. One of the last surviving members of the cult we learn about his strange life, including a lot of housecleaning tips. When I saw Palahniuk read in KC on the tour for Haunted 👇
It became a little joke in the FB Tolkien reread group that the sons of Elrond are the Peggy Schuyler of Middle Earth. They play an important role in the Born of Hope fan film but don‘t appear at all in the Peter Jackson movies. #MayCharacters #marginal
