#lae3424sp19 This F book written by Eric Litwin and illustrated by James Dean is a hit with children! I chose this book for my storytelling assignment, and I can‘t wait to share this story with my peers! The song in this book is so catchy and it has math integrated in it!

mluter This lesson plan uses the book as an introduction to the idea of subtraction! https://mathathome.org/lessons/groovy-buttons/ UDL 2.3 because the text is adding support to a mathematical idea. ESOL strategy 17 is used through the story telling because students can see the buttons coming off of pete‘s shirt! 5y
SofiaRoselli Love your little puppet with the book! This looks like such a fun book to read to students in the classroom! 5y
JessicaRosell I adore this book! When I was a preschool teacher, I would sing it to the kids as we walked out to the playground. ♡ I also love books that you can find a way to include other content area ( math! ) 5y
jessicabaksh I love how there is math integrated in the book. Not only are the kids exposed to reading but they are also exposed to math! Two birds with one stone 5y
DrSpalding Math and children‘s literature! This is a good resource and remember that the publisher has amazing resources including the video/audio resources for each of these books. 5y

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett (TL) is a heartwarming story that can be enjoyed by everyone. Sara Crewe is accustomed to a lavish life of wealth and luxury, and then she is thrust into a life of poverty after her father suddenly dies. Sara preservers with her active imagination and incredible spirit, this book is must read for everyone. #LAE3424sp19

audrey.wilson https://www.trueaimeducation.com/little-princess-book-study/ I do believe everyone could enjoy this story, it is very “girly,” so I would offer The Little Princess as an LC option. This link is to a simple, yet thorough lesson plan on following and analyzing The Little Princess. 5y
audrey.wilson UDL strategy 9.2, facilitate personal coping skills and strategies, aligns perfectly with this story. Sara must cope with the death of her father and her extreme poverty, and she copes through her friend Becky and her imagination. ESOL 38, assign short readings for homework, I would assign a constructed research for the students while they are reading this book. I would have them research things like boarding school, poverty, wills, etc. 5y
kennedimartin That‘s such a cute picture with the stuffed bunny :) 5y
cwright Even though it‘s “girly” like you said, I think the concept would be well-understood by all if carried out carefully like in your lesson plan! 5y
DrSpalding Sad story. Nice alignment to the principles and strategies. 5y
