Robert Moore, if you don't knock this shit off...! In today's chapter, he goes to visit Yorke and we're subjected to too many pages about Yorke's twee daughters and his incel son. It's all pretty off-putting, especially when Rob flirts with the little girls?! Like, I guess it could be an attempt at being playful but it was just weird. Also our omniscient narrator talking about when some of these kids will die?? What is this, Bridge to Terabithia??

This book was SO close to being my #latestbail, but I ended up skimming portions of it just to keep going & see where the plot went. It's got a cool premise & interesting format going for it, but the writing is abominable, imo. (So, ⭐️⭐️?) Sure, the characters are often insufferable, but the real problem was how often they commented on themselves/how they spoke. STOP THAT! #autumnreads
