#FamilyReadingNight ❤️

Diving into the current #bbbbc selection which I picked up from the library today. This is my first Brandon Sanderson book!

My son is rereading Wild Wings by Gill Lewis to prepare for Battle of the Books. They compete on Friday to see which two teams make it to the district competition. #raisingreaders

My husband (not 📸) is on the other couch reading Burning Bright by Nick Petrie. An author he recently found and loves.

InLibrisVeritas Yay! I hope you enjoy your first dive into his work! 5y
alisiakae My daughter is on her school‘s Battle of the Books team! They don‘t compete until March. 5y
SpeculativeFemale I have a serious soft spot for Sanderson. 5y
monalyisha I‘ve never read him before, either, & a friend of mine is totally gaga for anything he writes. Looking forward to seeing what you think of this (as it‘ll be a pretty good gauge for what I‘d think of it 😉)! (edited) 5y
MeganAnn @InLibrisVeritas @SpeculativeFemale I‘m enjoying it so far! It took a few chapters to get into the story, but now that I‘m past some of the initial descriptions and know what the crew is working towards I‘m invested in their actions. @monalyisha I‘ll be sure to tag you in my review! 5y
MeganAnn @4thhouseontheleft good luck to your daughter and her team! Is it her first year participating? This is my son‘s first year and he‘s a little nervous but also excited. 5y
alisiakae @MeganAnn 2nd year! Her team was actually the local winners last year, so they get to host this year‘s competition at her school. Home turf. 😃 I will say, it‘s not the most exciting competition to watch. 😂 5y
MeganAnn @4thhouseontheleft That‘s great that they won last year! Home turf is always nice 😊 My son is on one of four teams from his school - the top two teams move on to the district competition which takes place at a different local school. I expect it doesn‘t quite have the action factor of typical sporting events 😂 Although I think watching kids answer questions about books is better than watching the 100th baseball game of the year. 5y
