Alanna: The First Adventure: Song of the Lioness | Tamora Pierce

I have a confession-I've never read #tamorapierce. I read an ARC of Tempests and Slaughter and it was so good that I knew I finally had to start reading about this world. So I'm listening to #Alanna on audio, and I hope it's everything I've heard it is.

sloanghost Oh Alanna! My middle school jam was The Immortals (the series where Numair makes his adult appearance). Both quartets have definitely aged but imho they're still pretty darn good. And I think Circle of Magic has held up best to the ravages of time and cultural shift. 6y

jwashreads @sloanghost Yeah, I always worry when I start something as an adult that I should have read as a teen, because the genre has evolved since then. For instance, I read Eragon last year and just couldn't get into it. 6y

Tanner I have bought books simply because they are beautiful. I hate lending books too. I have exchanged one edition for a different edition of the same book in the series so that my series copies would all match. I'm that weirdo you see in the bookstore smelling the books and stroking their pages, but I prefer to do my library reading on my kobo. 8y
