Burial of Ghosts | Ann Cleeves
post image

Stay away from this evil cult called Kindle monthly deals. Great Kindle books dirt cheap! I just bought one for 92% off, and it‘s a book I need to read for my read the world challenge. Now I‘m browsing books I shouldn‘t buy, but... The tagged one is Q8.99. @Andrew65 There‘s Elly Griffiths, Peter May/James/Robinson, Follett, Slaughter, E. Rutherford etc.

Tove_Reads @andrew65 “recommended for you” is filled with books I blame you for and they are all less than a pound. (edited) 5y
Cathythoughts Thankyou for posting this. I‘ve just purchased 👍🏻I‘m just finishing up Raven Black ... so good !! 5y

Cathythoughts These are great bargains in fairness 👍🏻 5y
Tove_Reads @Cathythoughts I feel like I‘m wandering around my fave bookstore Hodges Figgis... 5y
Tove_Reads This one sounds good! Few have read it apparently 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads 😂 I accept the blame. #BlameItOnAndrew65 Guilty as charged. (edited) 5y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 Based on the covers I love all of them. You know the Frieda/Ben/Sean/Kim covers... a person running/standing staring in the distance/walking with his/her back towards the reader, and it‘s dark/rainy/heavy weather. (edited) 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Usually love all books with that cover. Covers definitely encourage me to buy books, even unknown authors. Very cover driven, I don‘t like reading blurbs as can spoil the book. 5y
Andrew65 Easy to spend a lot of money on amazon and audible deals, even when each book is cheap. @Tove_Reads @Cathythoughts (edited) 5y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 Well, now that I look at the picture in this posting... 😂 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Yep that cover says it all. 5y
Tove_Reads @EadieB @andrew65 @trishb @Cathythoughts Anyone read? According to Peter James it‘s brilliant! 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads No, but great review on here by @Lel2403 5y
Crazeedi This could be dangerous 5y
Tove_Reads @Crazeedi I‘m passed that by now. Lost cause. Save yourself! 5y
Tove_Reads @andrew65 @Cathythoughts I‘ve only bought 5 or 6, so I‘m behaving. I did buy Found, because it sounds great! 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Mike Brearley, one of the great Captains and a superb man manager. Think he‘s made a career as a psychologist. 5y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Just checked, it was a psychoanalyst. 5y
EadieB @tove_reads @Andrew65
I've read the tagged book:
This is an early standalone novel by Ann Cleeves. It's not as good as her Shetland Island or Vera Stanhope series but still a very good mystery. The plot is unique and one that holds your interest until the very end. The characters are interesting and Lizzie Bartholomew is bound and determined to find the killer. As in all of Ann Cleeves' books, the murderer is a complete surprise and unexpected.
5y
Andrew65 @EadieB Not Read this one yet. Not many books as good as the Shetlands Series. Would most make my top 10 or 20 series list. Seems hard to think it is all over. 😔 5y
TrishB Welcome to the 99p club! I‘ve read 2 of the Shetland ones, have another one on my kindle and the Vera ones! @cathythoughts (edited) 5y
Savugirl Is the law aware of this Kindle Cult? 5y
Crazeedi @Savugirl lol!!😉💗 5y

Maisie Dobbs: A Novel | Jacqueline Winspear
post image

@Andrew65 Okay, I don't know what happened, but I created this post yesterday & it never showed up!
This purchase was thanks to @andrew65 so not only is it a #blameitonlitsy but it is also #blameitonandrew65 😁

Andrew65 😂😂😂😂😂 I'm sure you'll love it! 🤞🤞🤞 7y
Andrew65 I've read the first 5 over the past 9 months and enjoyed them all (either 4, 4.5 or 5 stars), and aim to continue the series this year. The first one is good for the backstory about Maisie which I loved and explains a lot about future books, the mystery is slightly less in this one as we get to know Maisie. Enjoy 😊 7y
Lmstraubie @Andrew65 I'm looking forward to reading it. Trixie Beldon was one of my favorites when I was a kid, so I'm excited to dive back into a detective mystery series all these years later. 7y
Andrew65 @Lmstraubie Looking forward to seeing if you have found a new Trixie Beldon. 7y
