I reread this book because I want to experience again some of the books I‘m donating to a LFL. I remember this story being vaguely horror, more like horror-adjacent. A blurb on the cover describes it as an “eerie and quite lovely coming-of-age tale.” It is not lovely. It can be graphic, at times gross, and also sad. It is still quite a good coming-of-age story, though one plot point resolves a little too neatly and easily.

"Sam and his friends are like any normal gang of normal young boys—roaming wild around the outskirts of their car-factory town, daring adults to challenge their freedom. Then one day Sam wakes to find the tooth fairy sitting on the edge of his bed—but this is not the benign figure of childhood myth. This is an enigmatic presence that both torments and seduces him, changing his life forever."

Here is a spooky read for the horror fans ?

Here's my #backtoreading #recommendsday #recommendationsday choice.
I've read this book a couple of times and it managed to creep me out both times!
From the back: 'Seven year old Sam Southall loses a tooth, and that night he's visited by a sinister, rank, foul-mouthed, mercurial Tooth Fairy, a demonic being that apparently only he can see.'
A creepy, disturbing coming of age story. 5🌟

myers85 I'm very intrigued by this. 7y
laurieluna @myers85 it's a very bizarre read. Terrible blurb on the litsy listing. I recommend looking it up on goodreads! 7y
