Fighting Sad by reading in the middle of the kitchen in the biggest sun rays I could find.
As for the book, first in a serie of 3, 60 percent was about her father and the napoleon wars... Let's hope it gets more about her life and writing

Dilara Oh yes, there is plenty about her life and writing. I remember her being quite coy on the subject of extramarital affairs, but very thorough on all aspects of writing, including earnings! In any case, I really enjoyed Histoire de ma vie. It's quite long but very enlightening about 19th-century culture and mores. 2y
catsuit_mango @Dilara she is still a kid at the end of book ohe (almost finished ;)) but I m expecting the 2 other tomes to be adult life 2y

#QuotsyMay18 | May 10: butterfly 🦋

“Butterflies are but flowers that flew away one sunny day when Nature was feeling at her most inventive and fertile.”

The quote is not from any of her books (that I could find) but I love the idea. Photo by me during a visit to the National Museum of Natural History.
