Hot Lead, Cold Iron
Hot Lead, Cold Iron: A Mick Oberon Job 1 | Ari Marmell
3 posts | 1 read | 14 to read
Chicago, 1932. Mick Oberon may look like just another private detective, but beneath the fedora and the overcoat, he's got pointy ears and he's packing a wand. Oberon's used to solving supernatural crimes, but the latest one's extra weird. A mobster's daughter was kidnapped sixteen years ago, replaced with a changeling, and Mick's been hired to find the real child. The trail's gone cold, but what there is leads Sideways, to the world of the Fae, where the Seelie Court rules. And Mick's not really welcome in the Seelie Court any more. He'll have to wade through Fae politics and mob power struggles to find the kidnapper--and of course it's the last person he expected.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.
Day 232

Books in a series will be posted together, instead of individual posts for each.

Lately, l've been fascinated with fantasy stories with a modern setting. This series is set in Chicago in the 1920s, one of my favourite places and time.

What l like about this kind of fantasy is that magic, although present, is less apparent, more subtle. Just the kind l like.
