So I ran out of cookies and I realized I hadn‘t put my review up here! Book 2 of the Sweet and Stocky series finds Havelock “Locky” Sorensen unexpectedly let go from his accounting job with well padded redundancy payout. His roommate Kai lovingly strong-arms him to take a risk and pursue his dream to open a night time bakery. Kai connects Locky to small business project manager Benedict Owens to get started. ⬇️
Locky is an absolute awkward mess and I love him for it. While this book is low angst, I enjoyed the emotional depth of Benedict and Locky as they navigate deeper topics like familial trauma, sobriety, and shame. ⬇️ 5d
