Two women haunted by their sisters unsolved disappearances band together in this captivating mystery from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of All Good People Here and host of the #1 true crime podcast Crime Junkie. Sharp, slick, and chilling, with a whiplash ending youll never see coming.Jeneva Rose, author of Home Is Where the Bodies Are Nicole Nic Monroe is in a rut. At twenty-four, she lives alone in a dinky apartment in her hometown of Mishawaka, Indiana, shes just gotten a DWI, and she works the same dead-end job shes been working since high school, a job she only has because her boss is a family friend and feels sorry for her. Everyone has felt sorry for her for the last seven yearssince the day her older sister, Kasey, vanished without a trace. On the night Kasey went missing, her car was found over a hundred miles from home. The drivers door was open and her purse was untouched in the seat next to it. The only real clue in her disappearance was Jules Connor, another young woman from the same area who disappeared in the same way, two weeks earlier. But with so little for the police to go on, both cases eventually went cold. Nic wants nothing more than to move on from her sisters disappearance and the state its left her in. But then one day, Juless sister, Jenna Connor, walks into Nics life and offers her something she hasnt felt in a long time: hope. What follows is a gripping tale of two sisters who will do anything to find their missing halves, even if it means destroying everything theyve ever known.

I wanted to like this book more, but there‘s just something off about Nic. She‘s dysfunctional, for sure, but she‘s also not always a believable character. There were times when she was misreading a situation, but it didn‘t ring true. I didn‘t believe that that‘s what her character would think. The ending is a weird twist, but it was unsatisfying. It was entertaining, but not one of my favorites. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well this book definitely didn‘t turn out how I thought it would starting out but that‘s a good thing bc I was genuinely surprised & everything ended up fitting together. The audio was great! & it was only 8 hours so I went through it quickly. I kept wanting to listen to it. Now I‘m eager to read her first book. If you‘re into mysteries, thrillers, and even true crime, this book is for you! If you‘re close to your sister then it‘s a good read too!

4.25⭐
•Honestly, this has everything a good missing person mystery thriller needs, and I might‘ve rated it even higher if I weren‘t in such a funk lately. Also, I‘m feeling fairly burned out on Saskia Maarleveld‘s narration lately; it feels like she‘s narrating everything.

This one is a no for me. I really liked this authors last book, but this one fell super flat. The characters were all annoying and one dimensional. Everything that needed to be explained was that the MC was drunk... I hate that. It's such a cop out for bad writing. The twist just really felt lazy. Unfortunate 1/5

Twisty. Not sure if I love or hate having local towns as part of the settings in Ashley Flowers titles- first Wakarusa and now Osceola and Mishawaka. I know I would feel differently if these were romcoms and not suspense but...

This was a great second title from this author. It definitely kept me guessing until the very end.

Audio ALC while baking homemade brown sugar pop tarts. I always worry for a debut authors follow up but it's good so far and so are the smells in my kitchen!
