Marguerite by the Lake
This is the second book I've read by this author. I believe this is her second book. Though it was fairly good, it was also a bit of a let down for me. Not bad, but not one that wowed me either. It kept me turning the pages and guessing what was coming though. That was a good thing.
The best thing about this was the narration.

pickI wasn‘t sure what to think at first about this one—it started off a little uneven, but as I progressed with this, I realized that maybe that was the intention. We hear the story from the perspective of Phoenix, who is the landscaper for Rosecliff. Something terrible happens to Marguerite, Rosecliff‘s owner, and Phoenix describes the events that transpire. I cannot say more without really spoiling it, but by the end, I just sat and ⬇️⬇️⬇️
pickA dark book yet a great read. I had to expedite myself to the end as the main character got aggravating.
How many bad choices can one woman make when she's well-aware that's what she's doing?
It's a book that I expect to live with me awhile.
