Whether you've seen the movie or read the book, there's no denying that David Axelrod is #crazyforyou if you're Jade Butterfield. When I was younger, I was obsessed with this movie, the song, Brooke Shields, her hair, etc. I actually felt bad for David. Now, I have no idea what my younger self was thinking. There's nothing romantic about obsessive love.

I read this when I was in college, in the midst of my own #badromance. The depiction of obsessive, passionate teenage love gone very, very wrong really resonated with me. It probably ranks up there as one of my all-time favourite novels. But I would never reread it. It was the right book at the right time. I would hate to tamper with that memory.
