It had its good parts and helpful encouragements. But overall it felt like a 175 page graduation speech about overcoming adversity and shooting for the stars. So and so from history faced hardship and they overcame through hard work—you can too. Which isn‘t all bad, but toward the end I was over it.
What stands in the way becomes the way.
#marvellousmarch results: I really hoped to finish the Stone Sky tonight, but with 100 pages left to go... I would rather savor the ending and enjoy WWE Fastlane tonight 😂 Finished one (enjoyable, tagged) audio book. Had fun prioritizing reading more than usual and working towards new habits for the new season!
Thanks for hosting @Andrew65 !
Very good. But I am tired of these positive thinking books referencing Steve Jobs, we all know about Steve Jobs. However I did learn from anecdotes about Amelia Earhart, Demosthenes, Lincoln, Roosevelt, and companies I never knew were founded in recessions or depressions. Good entry point to stoicism philosophy.

Audible has bonus interview PS 👍🏻
This is a very good chapter. As someone who is looking to buy a house in this seller‘s market with inflated prices and bidding wars, emotional frustrations. I think frequently about the things I can control and the things I cannot control. He articulates this very well. What is up to us? What is not up to us?

An interesting look at how we can properly utilize the obstacles thrown in our way and use them to spring forward into our goals.

awesome one to read. It is motivated by stoicism but has awesome way to put it with many examples.
Awesome.
In many ways, this book is an extension of his earlier book Ego is the Enemy, furthering exploring the philosophy of Stoicism and approaching problems as opportunities. Like the earlier book, the book is full of helpful examples from the worlds of politics, business, sports, and the arts. The writing is clear, direct, and concise. Not nearly as strong as Ego, but still useful.
If you are stuck in life, as many of get some point in our life. Pick this book up. Ryan did his best to tell us life is not how we think it should be. Through the stories of great personalities he makes his point about how to overcome obstacles that comes in our way and make them our path to success. #stoic #philosophy #adversity #success #ryanholiday
Quake book... shook up some basic thought processes for me and got me off the path of self-interests and pity. It spoke to me and said, "It's not about you... so stop acting like it." This isn't a new concept, but the presentation hit me just the right way.
