So i came here for babs tarr art and with that I'm satisfied (just look at that hair 😍). The plot ranged from meh to confusing (gladius what?) to eye roll (boys ew). I feel like I need to know more about this Gotham Academy crossover though. Should i know about this new version of batman?! I'm wondering if my cluelessness on other dc arcs contributed to not enjoying this as much as the first volume. #mommyreads #comics #YA #dc

Uh so it turns out I was mixing up two runs of #batgirl. The kind folks at hub comics in #somerville straightened me out.

This was another great Batgirl volume! I really liked how Batgirl worked alongside more popular Gotham figures. The art shifts between different characters to match the art styles of their titles was interesting and well done. The only downside would be if a reader wasn't familiar with those series, then they might be confused about the sudden art shifts. #comics

Didn't realize this was the same world as Gotham Academy! A little crossover was kind of fun. This series is a lot better than Gotham Academy, which I felt went downhill starting with Vol 2. Loving this version of Batgirl. 10th book read for #24in48

In this volume Batgirl wrestles a tiger, and then tells a meddling old flame to take a seat in no uncertain terms. I loved every minute of it! Batgirl is a badass without falling into the Strong Female Character (TM) trope.

Just started this series after a recommendation on Get Booked, and what a delightful read. Babs is amazing and her friends even more awesome. Very inclusive and modern. I'm new to the character so I can't speak on faith to origin but this is a fantastic reboot for a new reader. I love that it isn't dark or gritty. It's fun!

I found this a quick and enjoyable read & the perfect way to start the #readathon. however, it's not one of my favorite comics - it's in the middle of a pick & so-so for me - I don't know if that's because I'm not familiar with Batgirl's history or if it's something else with the storyline or charatcters. overall, I did find this a fun & entertaining read, and will likely be picking up the the next issue at my library when they get it in

silentrequiem The Gail Simone run is better, imo. Her series takes place before Stewarts's so might provide the backstory you're missing. 8y

I feel like the villains weren't as strong in this one as the last one. I was also kind of confused because the main plot of this whole volume was dropped by like the fourth issue so I was like ??? what happened to that whole story??? I think this one was a little all over the place and juggling too many stories and side stories at once, but it was DELIGHTFUL to see Batwoman and the kids from Gotham Academy make appearances.

Somehow, I think you can handle this, Babs. Another cute volume in the Batgirl of Burnside series.

Barbara Gordon is always on the move and there is always plenty of drama. A wedding, her dad's new assignment, and trying to keep everyone safe is only the beginning!

I haven't been in a comics mood lately, but this was the perfect way to get back into it. Lots of appearances by people I love to read about and so much messing with my emotions! Want more now but will wait for the vol 3 trade 😭
