The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter
The Disappearance of Winter's Daughter | Michael J Sullivan
6 posts | 11 read | 13 to read
When Gabriel Winter's daughter mysteriously disappears and is presumed dead, the wealthy whiskey baron seeks revenge. Having lived in Colnora during the infamous Year of Fear, he hires the one man he knows can deliver a bloody retribution - the notorious Duster. Riyria's job appears easy: discover what happened to the missing duchess and, if she lives, bring her home...if not, punish those responsible. But nothing is simple in the crowded, narrow, mist-filled streets of Rochelle where more than one ancient legend lurks.

Spending sometime with my favorite "grump & sunshine" duo. Kind of bummed this is the last book I have of these two. What I am going to do without more Royce & Hadrian!!

Here is another fantasy series that I can't speak highly enough of. The Riyria series (Revelations and Chronicles) is full of adventure, magic, awesome characters, and best of all humor, which for me makes fantasy books all the more enjoyable! I love these books! 🤗💕📚

Melissa_J YESSSS!!! I love this series. Have you read the Legends of the First Empire series? I‘ve only read the first book, but have the next two waiting on my shelves. I took part in his Kickstarter campaigns for the Riyria books, but didn‘t take part in his latest one. 5y
Branwen @Melissa_J I've read the first two so far, Age of Myth and Age of Swords, and I'm waiting for my library to get the next one! 😁 Those are the books that got me into his writing! Isn't he just fantastic?! That is so freaking cool that you took part in his kickstarter campaign! His story is really inspirational I think! 5y
Melissa_J He‘s amazing, and so accessible. I recommend his books to everyone 😊 5y

Once again, another great adventure for Royce and Hadrian. Sullivan does such a great job of creating believable characters. The way that cultural and political strife is woven into the story is done very well. I love the humorous love/hate relationship between Royce and Hadrian. Even if you have not read any of the other books, Winter‘s Daughter is a solid read on its own. I definitely recommend, not just this book, but the whole series.

And here‘s a picture of the gorgeous limited edition cover! I wish Litsy could add the multiple picture side scroller Instagram has.

Excellent! I love the Riyria series so much and Winter‘s Daughter was filled with so much of Royce and Hadrian‘s humorous banter that I laughed quite a bit while reading it. The Riyria Chronicles get better and better with each book!

Also, I find it very sweet that Michael J. Sullivan dedicated his book to his characters.

This was an adventurous story that was an absolute joy to read. There was even mention of unicorns and who doesn‘t love a story that discusses unicorns? Only it is not what you think and when you read it you will really appreciate the mention. I wish that there had been more action for Hadrian though, because those scenes are always fantastic but nevertheless I loved this story.  …. www.thegenreminx.com #bookreviewer #TheGenreMinxBookReviews
