This book is Gossip Girl meets The Skulls meets any dark romance story you might‘ve read. Sure, it‘s about High School kids—but is in NO WAY, SHAPE, or FORM an appropriate book for a YA audience. Booktok has a good point that publishers need to be diligent in labeling content appropriately. I am NOT prudish about sex in any way—but this content isn‘t for kids aged 13-18 (which is usually YA grouping). Any thoughts, Littens?
swishandflick Sounds like that should probably fall more under the "new adult" category than YA if that's the case! I do think some folks can interchange them a little too easily, but it's definitely different! (More 18+) (edited) 1y
Clare-Dragonfly Genuine question: where are you seeing this advertised as YA? I hadn‘t heard of it but I looked it up, and Amazon lists it as various kinds of romance; in one place the publisher says New Adult, but I don‘t see YA at all. It doesn‘t look like a YA book and the blurb doesn‘t sound at all YA. 1y
