Yesterday I went to Ollie's, a discount store, and found these two great books, perfect for early Xmas shopping on a budget.
The tagged book is just perfect, so poetic, so cute. I'm sure the child it is destined to will love it.
A Stack of Alpacas is also a really fun book. I loved the ending, so funny.

Absolutely gorgeous! The historical city setting rendered in pencil, spot coloured with soft shades except for bright yellows; the child Lizzy with her cloud of dark hair, wanting an old-fashioned kind of cloud as a pet; and the gentle message of nurturing, change, and letting go. This is another perfect picture book by the amazing Fan brothers. #Canadian #kidlit

Terry and Eric Fan are an amazing duo of illustrators. I love the way their neutral grey pencil drawings have been spot coloured digitally. So many whimsical details to find in each spread, like oranges for 1 cent; a shop called The Stopped Click; different kinds of wheeled vehicles; a dirigible; and of course Lizzy, walking home with her new pet cloud.
