1 post | 1 read
Ines Garcia is a dynamic young woman who appears to have it all- a perfect life and her dream job. What she doesn't know yet is that she has an incurable condition. What she does know and chooses to ignore, is that her boyfriend Dylan is a selfish, womanising lowlife. She also knows that Luke, the witty, French playboy estate agent who sold her the beloved flat she lives in, is the man she can rely on- there is also the chemistry between them that neither will accept exists, A routine visit to the optician changes her life as she knows it. Will Ines pick herself up and find the happiness she is missing or let the diagnosis and Dylan, drag her under?

Pickpick

This was a really delightful read, combining often quite diverse elements. There is a breezy romance at its heart, but the story also takes time to explore the ways in which the main protagonist comes to terms with her own debilitating medical condition. It's quite confessional and there are moments when the author is reflecting upon her own personal struggles. I enjoyed the pace of the novel and the often comical inner monologues of “Ines“.
