Today‘s #Loveathon romance trope is Meet-Cute. I love a good meet-cute - it can certainly set the stage for the entire story. If characters don‘t have a good meeting they can later laugh about or tell their kids, where‘s the fun in that? It has to be done well though. It can‘t be too try-hard or cheesy. So there‘s a real meet-cute balance. What do you think about this popular trope?

Clwojick I agree, it can be way to cheesy if not done right, but some books are *chefs kiss* 1y
OriginalCyn620 Totally agree! Can be cheesy, but when it‘s done well, it sets the stage for sure. And a tip of the cap to you for the Dumb and Dumber meme! 🤣 1y
mrp27 I think meet cutes is my favorite romance trope but I agree that it must be done well. 1y

Frankie is forcing traditional meet cutes to see if she can find love (for the article she‘s writing) so when she gets invited on holiday by the guy she got stuck in an elevator with, why not? except when she gets there, why does his family think they‘re engaged? almost every rom com trope you can think of makes an appearance in this book. Frankie is a very funny narrator, this was a quick but fun read.
