Fear Thy Neighbour | F. Michaels
3 posts | 6 read | 2 to read
Alison Marshall is ready to find a place to call home. When she reaches beautiful Palmetto Island, she thinks she may have found it. The small, close-knit island community seems to have everything Alison needs. An old beach house is on the market and Alison takes it as another sign that she's in the right place. At first, home is everything she hoped it would be. But as days turn into weeks, she uncovers a dark side to this supposedly peaceful haven. The locals have a secret, and once Alison discovers what it is, she faces a stark choice. She can stay and join them - or escape.

Mehso-so

I found this book to be just “ok”. Many parts were very repetitive. The storyline seemed flat to me. There were no real surprises. I‘ve read many similar stories in the past. That being said, I kept reading and did finish the book. It‘s the first one I‘ve read by this author. Maybe I‘ll try another by her to see if I like it better. All in all, it was a fairly quick read and wasn‘t at all horrible.

Pickpick

This started slow too, but as it picked up the pace, it started racing and became a page turner. Ali had a rough past and spent her early adulthood as a wanderer. Something about Palmetto Island called to her so she decided to put down roots and bought a home. But crazy things have happened and her life is in danger.

⭐️⭐️.5
Didn't expect the ending, which was good, but something about the pace the story unfolded. Slowwww, then all at once everything happened.
