I want to live in a Denise Hunter book/series and be friends with the characters, play cards and pool, watch movies and dance, banter with them.

Hunter is one of my go-to authors for well-written, character-driven Christian-based fiction. This is a second in series, and again, she doesn‘t disappoint. Avery is a young doctor with her own clinic in a small North Carolina town. Having witnessed her own mother‘s death by genetic disease at a young age, she‘s grown up feeling guilty for her death as well as frightened by possibly succumbing to the same disease.
