An unforgettable graphic memoir by debut talent Sophia Glock reveals her discovery as a teenager that her parents are agents working for the CIA. Young Sophia has lived in so many different countries, she can barely keep count. Stationed now with her family in Central America because of her parents' work, Sophia feels displaced as an American living abroad, when she has hardly spent any of her life in America. Everything changes when she reads a letter she was never meant to see and uncovers her parents' secret. They are not who they say they are. They are working for the CIA. As Sophia tries to make sense of this news, and the web of lies surrounding her, she begins to question everything. The impact that this has on Sophia's emerging sense of self and understanding of the world makes for a page-turning exploration of lies and double lives. In the hands of this extraordinary graphic storyteller, this astonishing true story bursts to life.

Quick read about Sophia Glock's teenage years spent living abroad because of her parents' job. Also about her difficulty dealing with the secrecy of their job.
The feeling of belonging nowhere expressed in this book is relatable, but I couldn't care less about her adolescent drama.

Impromptu pick at the library. Interesting graphic memoir of a girl who grew up on the move with her parents who were CIA agents.

I enjoyed this, it was an interesting look at the themes that impacted the author's teen years living abroad but never integrating into the cultures she lived in. I liked reading her experiences with the hurricane and the coup. There were some themes I felt could have been explored a little more, but overall the book felt thoughtful. #comic #GraphicMemoir #Nonfiction #NonfictionComic

I only read this one because it had to be CIA approved to get published and I thought “Hey, that might be interesting.” I liked there story, but the art style was not my favorite. When a character cried, they looked like a zombie. And since there where only like four colors, the story felt repetitive. The spots that had dark colors and black wording on them were hard to see and read. 3.75⭐️

Kenyazero I just picked this up from the library yesterday! Looking forward to seeing how I feel about it :) 2y
