Dr Richard Shepherd, Forensic Pathologist writes about some of the cases he has experienced in his career, enlightening us on what is most likely to be the cause of death at each of the ‘7 ages‘. His writing reminded me of Prof. Stephen Westaby, both playful and intelligent. His other book is already in my cart 4/5 ✨

Dr Shepherd has written another book that takes you in the mortuary with him as he investigates the many causes of death that the human race face. Using The seven ages of death speech from As You Like It, you are taken through the horrific and sad deaths that happen at each stage of life. The cases chosen will punch you in the gut, reflect on your own mortality but also the last days loved ones may have faced.

On the day that we were celebrating independent book shops , I took $50 to our local shop and got myself 2 books. This is one of them. My over the top health anxiety made me skip over the one about old age, particularly when he started talking about dementia. Having said that it‘s a very interesting and informative read.
