Some scenes were inspired by true events. Macy Chandler had it all - popularity, good grades, head cheerleader, and a full scholarship to college. On graduation night, Brian Taylor - her boyfriend and school quarterback - breaks up with her. Heartbroken and angry, she quickly seeks the comfort of bad boy Dillon Braxton. After talking her into going away with him for a weekend to visit his sick mother, reality strikes when he tells her he escaped from a correctional facility. After three weeks on the run, he gets caught, leaving Macy in an unfamiliar place and held hostage by an abusive woman and her daughter. Although her parents have reported her missing, the police refuse to listen; she's of age to be on her own. Macy befriends another captive in the basement, a girl named Christi. After enduring months of physical and emotional abuse, Macy and Christi must come up with a plan to escape if they want to survive.
