This book is very wonderfully writer, I recommend this to girls who don't want to box themselves out. Nobody should be put in a category, and If you thrive on social justice this book would be really good for you.

I did not love this book, and I don't think I even liked it. I did love the authors previous book-I'm Not Dying With You Tonight, but this one was just a bummer. What I thought the book was going to be about- Best friend cheerleaders taking a knee during the anthem and how both deal with the fallout- doesn't even happen until over half way through, and the friendship is pretty much already over by then. Neither of the main characters are ⬇

I think I overhyped this one in my head. I thought it would be more about the actual kneeling and not just the after effects for each person. It felt like it kind of strayed from the topic. I did not like Eleanor‘s relationship with Three in the least. I just thought this book was going to be more like Moxie by Jennifer Manthiues and it was not. 3⭐️

YA novel taking on the controversy associated with early BLM taking a knee efforts. Very slow to start, the cheer squad doesn‘t take a knee until halfway through the book and some of the issues raised fizzled out too soon. #ARC #Netgalley

Out in October. I was skeptical of this one at first (I‘m not sporty), but ended up LOVING it. Seniors Leni and Nelly have always cheered together. Their relationship strains in their final year, especially after the squad decides to kneel during the anthem. The action has different consequences for each girl. Importantly, the story focuses on the work that happens AFTER they take a knee. ⬇️
