Tyler McCandless needs a break--a break from college, a break from his dad, and most of all, a break from women. Picking up the pieces of his broken heart, he accepts an invitation to spend the summer at his buddy's condo in Panama City Beach. He's young, attractive, and now unwittingly single ... He should be having the time of his life. Unfortunately, he is finding he can no longer enjoy just hooking up and is ready to head back to Alabama. That is, until beauty queen, Jackie Winston shows up.Tyler and Jackie have a history dating back to elementary school. She went from being a lost little girl, to annoying pest, to his best friend's girl, to finally becoming a good friend. Her smile is contagious and when he's with her, things seem better somehow. As their friendship starts to become something more, he realizes there is a lot of pain behind her blue-green eyes. Will secrets from his past destroy their relationship? Can Tyler be there for her, when Jackie needs him the most?

We had just finished the yard work when a quick storm came through and knocked our neighbor‘s tree into our yard. Next time I‘ll just stay inside with my books and my cats. (No damage to the house or occupants luckily.)

Aims42 Ugh, what a pain! And after you already did yard work?? Nope. Do not like. 1d
Ruthiella Glad all are ok. But yeah, staying in with books and cats seems like a good strategy. 😬😅 1d
kspenmoll Oh no! That‘s an awful mess- did it hit your gardens? 1d

Bookwormjillk @kspenmoll yes, thankfully. Just messed up the grass which I can live without anyway. 1d
bookandbedandtea I'm glad everyone is OK! A few years ago our neighbor's enormous blue spruce came down in a snowstorm and fell onto our property. It narrowly missed our house, thankfully, but it fell on my husband's truck and reduced the topper to bits. 🌲 1d
Tamra No more yard work - too tempting! 😏 1d
