Pickpick

I was drawn to this book by its cover. I think it is just beautiful and it matches the story. Izzy feels like her whole life is shifting. Her dad isn‘t the same since he came back from Afghanistan and her mom is spending all her time at her family restaurant. She is getting ready to start at a new school when he dad throws a curve ball. The interpreter who saved her dads life is moving to the town they live in and she has to help his daughter.

Lovesbooks87 Sitara is looked at different because she wears a hijab. But she is brave and tells people to ask questions she doesn‘t mind talking about it. But when an awful event happens to Sitara it has Izzy questioning who her friends are. I loved the friendship that bloomed between the two girls! #bbrc middle grade made easy blue skies. This book also completes this section of the challenge. 4y
