Loose Lips
Loose Lips: Fanfiction Parodies of Great (and Terrible) Literature from the Smutty Stage of Shipwreck | Amy Stephenson, Casey A. Childers
5 posts | 1 read | 21 to read
Fanfiction has always been there, lurking in the darkest corners of the internet. Two years ago, Amy Stephenson and Casey Childers found a way to drag it into the harsh fluorescent light of the Booksmith at Shipwreck: A monthly literary fanfiction competition. Now, Shipwreck has collected the most outrageous, perverted, brilliant wrecks based on 15 original works, from The Great Gatsby to Jurassic Park.

Bought this a few months ago after an All the Books recommendation. I'm sitting waiting for my hair color to process. Seems like the appropriate time to start reading erotic fan fiction. Right?! 😂🙈😂🙈

Day 17: short stories. There's an erotic fanfic competition called Shipwreck, & it is as hilariously cringeworthy as you can imagine. They recently published a book of the best/worst stories (that's Cecil Baldwin in the top right doing a reading at the book launch!) The book even includes an "Appendicks" (yes, really) with such glorious penis euphemisms as "trouser fugitive" and "rolling pin of delight." @RealLifeReading #booktober #litsyafterdark

Pickpick

Never have my expectations been so overwhelmingly, gratifyingly fulfilled. Is this book a fabulous intro to the fan-fiction event Shipwreck? Is it so alluring a book that I am already planning a visit to witness Shipwreck for myself? Absolutely. Is it chock full of erotica written by a variety of authors, w/ a hilarious number of euphemisms for the human anatomy? Oh my, yes. Check it out; I bet you‘ll be saying “yes” faster than you thought. - Jax

Staffers Lelia and @RebeccaSpeas opened this #BookMail and spent the next 20 minutes reading excerpts and cackling. Sounds pretty great to us!
