I usually enjoy a mystery anthology, but some of these short stories were amazing....leaving me thinking just “wow.”

I know it's realistic that authors create protags with prejudices, a reflection of the real world, but I found it taxing to read an anthology of stories where so many of the contributors made this choice. This said, still a good read, my favs being: The Fourteenth Juror, The Consumers, River Secret, Hot Sugar Blues, The Final Ballot, The Unremarkable Heart (triggers!), Even a Blind Man, The General, Leverage, The Hotline, The Hollywood I Remember.
