Ambush at Corellia: Star Wars Legends (The Corellian Trilogy)
Ambush at Corellia: Star Wars Legends (The Corellian Trilogy) | Roger MacBride Allen
9 posts | 14 read | 2 to read
A trade summit on Corellia brings Han Solo back to the home world he left many years before. Arriving on the distant planet with Leia, their children and Chewbacca, Han finds Corellia overrun with agents of the New Republic Intelligence and finds himself part of a deceptive plan whose aim not even he understands. One thing is clear: the five inhabited worlds of the sector are on the brink of civil war and the once peaceful coexistence of the three leading races -- human, Selonian, and Drallan -- has come to an end. Features a bonus section following the novel that includes a primer on the Star Wars expanded universe, and over half a dozen excerpts from some of the most popular Star Wars books of the last thirty years!

I really enjoyed this one. It isn't strictly canon from what I can tell, but the world building is excellent. And for a book written in 1995, it is scarily quite current. I found it to be very well written. Fortunately I have the next 2 in the trilogy already, since this one ends with a cliffhanger. #scifibooks

RamsFan1963 I enjoyed this too, but I think you're right, it's no longer canon in the post-Disney Star Wars Universe. 3y
bookishbitch @RamsFan1963 I wonder if the Disney stuff has changed what is considered canon. I mean, was it canon and then it got bumped? 3y

I can't help but notice this seems pretty darn familiar. Just replace the word species with the word races, and the word human with white.

Started this tonight. And I do have the other 2 in the trilogy as well. I'm trying to get through some of the series I have on my shelves.

It‘s a ok read starts out pretty good most of the stories main plot and environments plus major characters are written within the first 100 pages, although the middle of the book has a lot of filler dialogue which is very pointless, but eventually it comes full circle towards the end with a nice cliff hangar into the next book of the trilogy. I recommend if your a fan of Star Wars and Sci fi.

Finished the first of this trilogy and it was definitely one of the better SW EU books I‘ve read. The ending leaves it wide open for the next book so I‘m jumping into Assault at Selonia next!

The only Star Wars universe book I have. I didn't like it so much, so I didn't get more on the same universe. Perhaps in the future.

Going with Han Solo today, because I'm very curious how they're going to rewrite his backstory in the movie 😅🙈 ~ Fellow Star Wars fans: excited or nervous?? ~ #Day15 #StarWars #octphotochallenge #bookphotochallenge ~ @LibrarianRyan

LibrarianRyan A little nervous. Plus to see someone else take over the role. I know I'll see it but ... 8y
bmsddk @LibrarianRyan Agreed, haha. I'm a bit concerned that they keep touting it as the story of a young Han Solo, as he was already quite young in A New Hope -- could get in the way of providing interesting fresh content (though I'd also be happy if they stuck to the original expanded universe). What did you think of the new movie? 8y
