The Panda of Death
The Panda of Death | Betty Webb
4 posts | 3 read | 3 to read
California zookeeper Theodora Bentley is now happily married to Sheriff Joe Rejas. The Gunn Zoo is celebrating the arrival of Poonya, an adorable red panda, who forms a strong bond with Teddy. All appears fairytale blissful in the small Monterey Bay village of Gunn Landing until Teddy’s mother-in-law, mystery writer Colleen Rejas, has discovered through DNA testing that Joe has sired a son he knew nothing about. Dylan Coyle, 18, arrives to meet his biological family… and then is arrested for murder.
By the end of the book, besides solving the crime, Teddy and Colleen have learned that the term “family” does not always mean blood kin. It often includes those who—although no blood relationship—are still held close in our hearts.

Finally caught up on my Webby and it‘s just as much fun as the rest of the series.

The sixth and (so far) final Gunn Zoo mystery has Teddy tracking down a killer when her husband, the sheriff, has a conflict of interest. Charming and fun as usual!

SW-T Love the nails. Plus, they coordinate with the book cover! 😂 4y

I knocked out #MakesYouLoL and #AnimalonCover for my spring #Booked2020 prompts, but no others. I think I did get some summer and fall knocked out, but my Minisaurus won't give me time to check today. She wants to read all the stories! I'll just have to include them next time. 😂

Mehso-so

I liked different aspects of this particular Gunn Zoo novel: the kid's show cast was fun to get to know, seeing Teddy & Joe finally settled, and of course, having more Colleen was very welcome. At the same time, there were so many things happening at once, I didn't feel like we got to spend enough time w/any one plot line. It also made Teddy's investigation seem disjointed. There were so many leads & suspects that her ideas didn't feel connected.
