❐ Overall Rating 2¾ | Narration 4
It started out decently but sort of fell apart for me near the middle...not terribly so...and if the ending hadn‘t happened the way it did; I might have rated somewhere around three and a half to four stars, even. But that ending...and when I say ending, I‘m talking about the last 10 seconds or so of the book (I had to rewind it and make sure I heard it right), it totally blew the whole story for me.

A relatively short, twisty thriller that seems to be comfortable giving certain surprises away, while holding onto other surprises to drop on you in the page or two of the story. Effective at keeping me engaged and interested. Ending was a cliffhanger that leaves open the possibility of a continuing storyline in another novel. We shall have to see.

“No one-they think-deserves to shine forever, to eclipse all the others who are just as worthy of recognition.”

Holy cow! Once I started this book I couldn‘t put it down. There‘s nothing “perfect” about being famous. Reviews are mixed but I enjoyed it despite the obvious lack of strong character development. It‘s not a typical mystery thriller but more of a suspenseful mystery. Once I reframed my perspective I was able to enjoy the book.

Mehso-so

Oh my. This one just didn‘t do it for me. It‘s interesting at times, but it‘s easy to figure out and I don‘t think I would even call it a “slow-burn”, because I just didn‘t get the burn. And the ending! Ughhhhhhh. So-so since I did feel the need to see what happened.. 😣

Bored? Nothing else to do?

What possessed Bree to go on an obsessive, dangerous hunt for her favorite author?

The ending twists were definitely a surprise. 4/5

Well I must say this thriller kept my attention from start to finish in a #OneSittingRead! Split between two narrators, Ward is a successful author and on the night of her 13th book tour, tragedy strikes. Six months later, divorcée Bree plans to bolster her re-emerging journalism career in investigating Ward‘s story. The ending is a bit over the top, but it‘s entertaining and has such strong dialogue throughout! #NetGalley
