In March I included some books by Irish authors & strong female characters/authors. Story based on some real facts during the afterwar-pandemic situation in 1918. But story is about the consequences in a maternity/fever Ward: lack of personnel-supplies-food-jobs-no cure. A slow pace reading, with graphic medical interventions, maybe predictable in some areas, repetitive in others but I really liked it.4⭐️⬇️

Gissy Triggers: pandemic situation without much hope, complications and fatal results during birth. Criticism to social-political situations and catholic practices during this time also based in some true facts. I liked that it mentioned some consequences of the after war situations.

Mehso-so

Another book finished during COVID-19 and it‘s about the previous pandemic. I learnt a little about how the hospitals managed the virus and maternity. Must say I almost bailed. Kept thinking it would get better as I have liked her previous books.
