Protector of the Small | Tamora Pierce

Protector of the Small is about a young girl who wants nothing more than to be a knight and to do all the things a knight does. Being a girl does not make this easy. However, this story shows her prevail against all odds and shows what women can do.

Jumping in to #30daysofreadathon a little late with my #favoritebook (and maybe cheating a little by using a series). I love all of the Tortall books, but this fierce, driven girl will forever hold a special place in my heart. I always come back to these books as my harbor when I am in a tough place. The banner is based on art by Cara Coville from Tamora's blog and knitted by yours truly. #knitting #hardcoreladytypes

Kamisha Oh my gosh! I ❤️this! Nice job on that banner! 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag 😍😍😍 Daine and The Immortals Quartet are my favourite. Can't wait for Numair's story to come out! 7y
Mindelan @Kamisha Thanks! 7y
Mindelan @thegirlwiththelibrarybag Me too! And it looks like the spy handbook is finally coming out next month! So excited. I'm hoping it will have the Provost's Dogs insignia so I can make another banner... 7y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Mindelan, I'm so pumped, going to be devastated if the publication date gets pushed back again 😅😅😅 I hope there is too - all the banners for you! 7y

Getting ready to move, and this is always one of the first and most important boxes. Home is where my books are, so I guess I might as well pack everything else now.

Love this series! She's a girl with no magical power but has a clever and smart mind that makes up for it! Not to mention her pure determination and her ability to lead! I adore reread these books and they never get old.

For today's #AugustPhotoChallenge, I'm picking Keladry of Mindelan as my #FaveFemaleCharacter! I've loved all of Pierce's amazing ladies since I was in junior high. But Kel's story just resonates more for me. If you haven't read any of the Tortall books, definitely start with Alanna's quartet, but know that each series that follows is amazing too!

Alisnazzy Alanna for the win!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 8y

For today's #AugustPhotoChallenge, I'm picking Keladry of Mindelan as my #FaveFemaleCharacter! I've loved all of Pierce's amazing ladies since I was in junior high. But Kel, following in the wake of other amazing women who blazed paths for change, and picking up where they left off just resonates more for me. If you haven't read any of the Tortall books, definitely start with Alanna's quartet, but know that each series that follows is amazing too!

My #augustphotochallenge #bookishsquad is Keladry and her friends in knights' training in the Protector of the Small series. Out of all of Tamora Pierce's series, this one remains my favorite, and I think I'm due for a reread.

iread2much I completely agree! I love Kel, she's exactly the kind of person I want to be. :) although I am short and have more of a temper, she's my literary spirt guide... 8y
