every word printed onto these pages came from a dark place within myself excruciating pain consumed my being for the longest time I know the bottom of depression's pit all too well I hope if you feel abandoned you find my words because I am here for you I know how it feels to have absolutely no one who truly understands when you need someone the most

“When your world is completely flattened, you have no choice but to start over from the ground up. It can take over a decade. Anyone that watched from afar would call this a tragic catastrophe. I now know one of life‘s greatest secrets; destruction breeds growth.”

LiterRohde But holy shit does that decade plus feel like forever. After awhile it just becomes the new normal. You decide maybe you deserve to feel like shit. And then when you come out the other side and realize you have been merely existing for years, you both want to live and enjoy life (a weird one for me is how good chapstick is) and kick yourself for wasting so much life. I didn‘t even know I was that miserable. I never want to be there again. 4y
gradcat All of that is from the same book? I love this! 4y

LiterRohde @gradcat Only the words in quotes in the post are from the book. The comment is actually my own experience after a bad 5 year marriage and divorce and the subsequent decade plus that I spent trying to dig out of a very dark place. I am only just starting to live. And each day I have to remind myself not to go back to the cave. That‘s why I liked this quote when I saw it. It is so true for me. Sorry if that was not clear or if it was TMI... 4y
gradcat @LiterRohde Not at all! I don‘t feel like it was TMI, and if I‘m honest, I‘m rather pleased that you shared your experience with me. I‘m only sorry that you went though all that you did. Please don‘t go back to the dark place, and please do not re-enter the cave. And by all means, keep on living—I would miss you and your lovely posts daily. Now—how‘s that for TMI? No, in all seriousness, please take care of yourself—it‘s easy to slip back a bit.♥️ 4y
gradcat @LiterRohde P.S. Buy lots of chapstick!! 😂 4y
LiterRohde @gradcat 🧡 Currently using ChapStick Total Hydration Essential Oils Lemon & Orange (that‘s a mouthful). And I just noticed they each have a tag line depending on which oils you picked. Energy, Peace, Relax, and the one I picked - Happy. Interesting that I am just noticing that now. Anyway, it‘s always good to be reminded that there are a few people who are interested in who you are. Thanks! 4y
gradcat @LiterRohde I have some of those very same ChapSticks! 😂🤣😂 4y
