Historical fiction set in Russia? Yes, please. This starts with a young woman living in Odessa who is sent with her family to Siberia and ends with a modern descendant living in NYC. It's great. Even if one of the main characters annoyed me quite a bit.

Super easy to read family saga. Each part focuses on a woman from a different generation of one family.

I went to a bookstore to browse for the first time in nearly two years. Maybe I‘ll get something completely different, I thought. Then I saw this and knew it was the one.

Really enjoyed this one!! The title is apt as we open up the story of mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers and great-great-grandmothers.

"Adam's voice sounded like crushed glass soaked in vodka, then run through the mud and used to coat his throat."

Now how's that for a description?!

It's not like I don't have enough to read or anything, but our libraries are open now so I had to get away to one today!

I'll bring Expectation with me to book club and I just love the sound of The Nesting Dolls! A Bend in the Stars is one i had from Netgalley so I'll be able to read the hardcover now.
