I liked this version of the story of it being told in the early nineteenth century. The pictures capture the time period with the black and white prints.

Traditional. Wonderful retell of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. The retelling captured the story in a good little making it fun to read even having already knowing the basic story of little red. The illustrations even further brought the story to life with the use of color and brilliant line work.

Little Red Riding Hood, by Andrea Wisnewski (2003). This book has very dark bold lines. It retells the story of little girl and a crafty, hungry wolf.

“'I'm right as rain thanks to you and your father,' she responded pertly, playfully tugging on the girl's blonde pigtail. 'But I hope to heaven I never see the inside of a wolf again for as long as I live!'“

I would use this book in my classroom because it is a classic and I think it has a good message to students about not talking to strangers, just in this case it's a hungry wolf.

Little Red Riding Hood written by Andrea Wisnewski. This is the traditional tale of the Little Red Riding Hood. I've heard this story been told for many years but to read it straight out of the book was nice, especially the ending was interesting. The irony of the grandma still being alive after being eaten by the wolf was funny too. I enjoyed the layout of the book and the illustrations.

This is a classic story retold in a sweet fun way. I loved the illustrations as they almost looked at though they had been etched. I liked this version because the grandmother lived and it was a happy ending.

This book was never one of my favorites because I think that it scared me(pub.2000). The illustrations throughout this book are beautiful. Some seem to be so intricate, but also very simple. I enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures throughout.
“The wold rushed into the room and was at her bedside in a trice.“ I like this quote because of the different vocabulary used, but also the growth of the story from that.
