Written in free verse this novel felt like a cross between some of my favorite Jacqueline Woodson middle grade reads and all the feels of Mike Lupica's titles. All three authors don't shy away from tough topics nor gloss over themes of contemporary life. I enjoyed the antics of brothers who were vastly different despite being twins and could completely understand the nerves of going to a doctor when you know genetics aren't on your side.

The allusion of my book is lebron James playing playing basketball in high school with him teammates. The author is using a point of view of a young basketball player.

TheMrsShaw Allusion is a reference to another work of art or to popular culture. An example would be that the title of William Faulkner's “The Sound and the Fury“ is an allusion to Shakespeare's line from Macbeth that life is a “tale/Told by an idiot/Full of sound and fury/Signifying nothing.“

Great story, wonderful characters and absolutely incredible use of language. The author says so much with so few words, but what awesome words he uses. Highly recommend this on audio. Great for a reluctant reader or as a read-a-loud.🎧

The book crossover is about an child athlete who can play in the NBA. It talks about his personal life and sports life. If you like books about sports and child athletes this book is for you. This is a fiction book. It is a great book but you have to read it for yourself.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Nick! Your summary left me wanting more though! Remember that genre isn't just fiction but another subcategory. 4y
