I did some pre work vacuuming today and nearly killed myself when I forgot that I had the vacuum out and tripped over it and head long into a bookshelf.

🙄🤬🤕

Happily nothing broken but my toes are rather sore... so I treated myself to a Yowie because I am an adult 🤔

Anyone had a Yowie before? The chocolate is kinda terrible but the nostalgia is 👌.

brilliantglow I've never seen or heard of these before. But I hope your toes aren't too sore 5y
ShananigansReads Glad you are okay. Never heard of a Yowie. Is there anything inside? 5y
LapReader It‘s a monster from the Pilliga in Australia not far from the Bush where I grew up. The adults tell you about it so you won‘t go too far from your homestead alone and get lost. It still scares me today when I travel through the area. It‘s much better in chocolate form. @brilliantglow @Bookjunkie57 Hope you toes get better soon. 5y

LapReader Is that a coaster in the background? The pic of the girl swimming is gorgeous. 5y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @LapReader, no it‘s a one of a kind inktober 2018 drawing by one of my favourite Melbourne based artists (her instagram/Etsy shop is Hannakin) 5y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @Bookjunkie57, this version of the Yowie is a protector of the environment - there was a series of picture books released in the 90s about them. They have toy animals inside with a little fact sheet kind of like a kinder surprise but the chocolate isn‘t as good. 5y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag @brilliantglow, the concept is Australia but the chocolate line was resurrected a couple of years ago by an American company. Surprisingly my toes are doing well. 5y
CarolynM I brought my children up on Yowies - they were the best bribes ever. And we loved making the little plastic animals together ❤️🙂 I haven't tried tried the new version. (edited) 5y
