Ironside
Ironside | Holly Black
When pixie Kaye declares herself to Roiben on the day of his coronation, he is forced to send her on a seemingly impossible quest. Now Kaye is forbidden to see or speak to him unless she can find the one thing she knows doesn't exist: a faerie who can tell a lie. Miserable and convinced she belongs nowhere, Kaye makes a rash decision to reveal the truth to her mother - that she is a changeling left in place of a human child. Her mother's shock reaction sends Kaye running back to the Faerie realm in search of her human counterpart in a bid to return her to Ironside. But Kaye once again finds herself a pawn in the games of the Seelie Court. Queen Silarial wants Roiben's throne and she will use any means necessary to get it! In this dangerous, twisted game of wits and power can a pixie outplay a queen?

Between a pick and a so so. It was better than Valiant but not as compelling as Tithe. I like this very dark side of the land of faery. I enjoyed overall. This is my #doublespin
It‘s been a long week so far and I‘m more than ready for the weekend! 😂 #bookspinbingo

For a sequel, not much happened and I was seriously disappointed that Val didn't make much of an appearance. BUT, after a good two decades I've finally finished the series!

⭐⭐⭐ This book only really gets good at the end. The rest of it was not enough to hold my current weakened attention. Life kinda sucks at the moment so I'm having trouble concentrating, which pisses me off because books are my great escape. Anyway, I didn't think this third book in the series was nearly as well thought out as the first two, but I did enjoy it somewhat. Hopefully the next book I read will better capture my imagination.

papertimemachines I was torn on whether I liked these or not. I think I liked the ideas more than I liked the actual writing. Have you read the cruel prince yet? 5y
Eggbeater @megansaurusrex Yes. I loved The Cruel Prince. That's why I wanted to go back and read this older series. Her writing has definitely improved with age. 5y

Loved this book just like I loved Tithe. It‘s kind of the companion book to Tithe.

#SurvivingDecember This is great one when you've #spentadayholidayshopping, (NOT shoplifting, as Kaye and Corny do). It's even more exciting than the first and I adored these books in high school :)

I enjoyed this concluding novel and liked how it tied the previous 2 books together.

When I think of #holly I of course think of Holly Black. Fortunately I found this series after it was completed so I was able to plow straight through. #12DaysOfXmasPhotos

The friendship between Kaye and Corny is one of my #FavoriteFriendships! Intensly loyal, they go on each other's misadventures and help keep each other from imploding. This works out nicely, since, left to their own devices, they both excel at self destruction!

Picking up the adventure with Kaye again, as compelling as our pixie is, I find Corney even more interesting. This story also connects with someone from Valiant and ties the two stories together in a really satisfying way. Love the end, and can't wait for the next novel!
